Updates & Patches
The day-one performance patch, Hotfix 1.0.2 quest fixes, known issues under investigation and where to find official patch notes.
Rebel Wolves is patching fast for a studio on its first launch — the first hotfix arrived one day after release, with more confirmed in the pipeline. This page tracks every update, what it fixed, and what's still on the known-issues list.
Day-One Console Patch — September 3, 2026
The headline change happened before anyone booted the game. When console performance was first announced, PS5 and Xbox Series X would top out at 40 FPS in Performance Mode — and the backlash was immediate. Rebel Wolves responded by finishing the testing it had been running anyway and shipping a 60 FPS Performance Mode in the day-one patch:
- PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X: Performance Mode now targets 60 FPS, Balanced Mode up to 40 FPS, Quality Mode 30 FPS
- PS5 Pro: additional visual enhancements, including dynamic 4K resolution
- Xbox Series S: Performance Mode remains capped at 30 FPS
Hotfix 1.0.2 — September 3, 2026 (All Platforms)
The first post-launch hotfix, rolled out one day after release. A small patch, but three quest-progression blockers died:
Quests fixed:
- Coen can now talk to Farkas even after killing all the NPCs around him
- Lunka no longer gets lost when leading Coen during the tutorial
- The Uriashi blacksmith learned how to craft a certain holy sword
Gameplay (PC):
- Adjustments to controller dead zone and input issues while sprinting
Known Issues Under Investigation
Rebel Wolves has publicly confirmed the issues it is working on next, with workarounds where they exist:
| Issue | Status | Workaround |
|---|---|---|
| Stuttering in Windowed / Borderless mode | Under investigation | Launch the game in Full Screen |
| Crashes while compiling shaders | Under investigation | Check that your BIOS is up to date — the crash is tied to the Oodle decompression library, and outdated BIOS/AGESA versions are the common cause |
| Missing button-mapping options for PS5 gamepads | Under investigation | — |
The studio's own closing note: "We will continue to make improvements so that you can enjoy The Blood of Dawnwalker more comfortably."
